CONNECTION TO RESEARCH

For my capstone I am raising awareness about domestic violence to teenagers and adults. It has been proven that a 1.5% of high schoolers have been physically or mentally abused and didn’t speak up about it,“1.5% of high school students experience domestic violence” (DoSomething.Org,n.d).  So I am going around to different houses in my community and to my own classmates' classroom to educate them about what exactly it is and where to get help from. I have also been going around selling bracelets to raise money for Prudence Crandall. I am teaming up with Prudence Crandall because they are an organization that gives shelter, support, and resources to those who have just left an abusive situation. They are even an organization that has housing also included for those who still need more support or don't have anywhere else to go.
